 2019 Stationery

In 2019, to reduce costs, we will be supplying stationery to classes in bulk rather than individual packs. The stationery charge for 2019 will cover the annual cost of your child’s stationery requirements. The bulk buying of these items allows us to obtain the most competitive pricing available while ensuring quality and consistency of product.

The stationery charge will be payable through the

School Shop

early in 2019 and if paid before 31st January 2019, stationery will be available in class for your child on day one.

You can also get information about, and pay for, Term 1 sport options via the school shop.

Payments can also be made directly into the school bank account (12-3440-0009600-00) using your child’s name as reference. This system means we will not be holding stationery sale days.

The 2019 stationery charges are as follows:
- Year 1  (Rms 16,17 & 19)          $39.00       (includes a book bag)
- Year 2  (Rms 12,13 & 14)          $39.00
- Year 3-4                                       $48.00
- Year 5-6                                       $51.00

Stationery Lists can be found here.  We can guarantee that we have purchased good quality products at the very best of the back to school prices.

Nau mai, haere mai ki te Kura o Tauranga

Welcome to Tauranga Primary School.

With a proud  history as the first school in Tauranga, we are committed to equipping our learners with the necessary skills, knowledge and dispositions to thrive in learning and life.

What we aspire to, as a school, is expressed in our Mission Statement:

Within a caring and collaborative learning community, Tauranga Primary School is committed to inspiring curiosity and encouraging creativity. We will challenge and develop the academic and social skills of our learners, so that they can make meaning of their world.

We are dedicated to providing a quality education for your child(ren) and believe that by working in partnership with families, together we can achieve this.  We encourage our school families to be actively involved in our school community.

Tauranga Primary School's teaching and learning programmes are a blend of creative 21st Century educational practice, utilising I.C.T., combined with the very best of traditional teaching practice.  Working in partnership with our parents and school community we strive to provide learning opportunities that challenge students to develop their Key Competencies as learners.  The TPS Way is to develop skills and attributes as:

  • Thinkers
  • Self Managers
  • Communicators
  • Contributors
  • Team Players

Central to our philosophy of teaching and learning at Tauranga Primary School is “Learning to Learn”.  We have defined learning as:  Learning is engaging in an ongoing process of making connections, discovery, and challenge; building knowledge and skills to make meaning of our world. The Tauranga Primary School Learning Model is taught and referred to across all year groups.  We use the Learning Model to make learning visible by explicitly teaching the process of how to learn, and build learner dispositions and capacity, so that our learners acquire the knowledge and skills to make meaning of their world.

Together, we are learning to go places.
